Do I Need to Visit My Doctor?

For most compensation claims where you have suffered a personal injury, it is likely that you have already visited a doctor for treatment. Even if you did not visit your doctor due to the injuries you suffered, you should still be able to make a claim.

If you Visited a Doctor after the Incident or Accident

If you did visit a doctor or another medical specialist due to your personal injury or other type of incident, the chances are you have helped your case considerably as there will be a written record of the injuries you sustained at the time of the accident or incident. It will also show that you felt your injuries warranted medical help.

If you did not Visit a Doctor

If you did not visit a doctor you can still make a successful compensation claim. Some injuries do not become apparent straight away, or their severity is not realised until after the accident or incident. Also, you may not have had time to visit a doctor due to other commitments such as work or family. Possibly, intimidation was involved in preventing you from visiting a doctor or hospital.

Making a Successful Claim for Compensation

The key factor to making a successful compensation claim is to prove that a third party was negligent towards you or their responsibilities, and as a result you were injured or suffered loss. This is the basis for compensation, and providing this is in place, the compensation claim should be successful.
